Snorkelling, Sun-bath, swimming, scuba diving, canoeing and many more activities can be carried out at beach.

Which beach(es) had you went before? How do you rate them? How others rate the beaches?

Here your chances, visit https://www.facebook.com/questions/10151983986480166/ to vote for your favourite beach(es).

(Legally) National Park in Malaysia

When we talk about national parks in Malaysia, I think all of us (including me) will think immediately about the Taman Negara, Pahang. Other than that, we can search through internet and find out that there are so many national parks in Malaysia. However, are they legally gazetted?

What is your answer?Yes or No?
If your answer is YES, then you might be shocked after you know the answer.

I was also shocked when I was told by my lecturer, we call him haji yunuf. He is ex-director of Penang Forestry Department and was a representative of Malaysia in negotiating forest issues at International level.

His answer is Malaysia has only 1 legally gazetted national park.
I think you are so curious want to know which national park it is, right?

The answer is Penang National Park

What do you think why Taman Negara Pahang and other national parks are not legally gazetted under the laws?

Going Green Has Made the Difference

There is clearly a difference in the country as many states and cities have become more committed to implementing green initiatives that can effectively improve the environment and local communities. Destiny USA in Syracuse, Eco-friendly buses in Oakland,  and underwater turbines in New York City and other cities around the country have benefiting by adopting green innovations in their daily operations and major infrastructures.

The green initiative to incorporate more hydrogen fuel-cell buses is paving the way for a very bright future in the city of Oakland. These 40-foot premium quality buses cruise the streets of Berkeley, Oakland and other cities in the East Bay area. The city hopes that these $2 billion buses become less expensive as they become the norm in other major cities across the country. Oakland first started using hydrogen buses back in 2005. The types of buses have much smaller impact on the environment than the average diesel buses that emits around 130 tons of carbon dioxide every year.

Developing an enhanced commissioning initiative was very effective in helping Destiny USA, a huge entertainment source in Syracuse, NY, decrease the amount of energy consumed in running vital systems. In turn, this green initiative was effective in creating more efficient systems that functioned properly. The primary objective of this green program was to eliminate or minimize any deficiencies in the electrical, mechanical or plumbing systems throughout the area. Rainwater harvest, lighting, heating and cooling systems were the main beneficiaries of this green initiative implemented in Destiny USA. There was also an initiative to bolster the innovative wastewater technology. Destiny USA was able to earn exemplary LEED credits due to the impressive performance of the rainwater harvest system. The low flow shower and bathroom fixtures also contributed to exemplary LEED accreditation that Destiny USA received. This initiative helps the wastewater treatment facility during a storm, and alleviates the burden of supply on the city. The entire initiative is geared towards helping Destiny USA make more efficient use of its current water supply.

New York city is actually the most energy efficient metropolis in the entire world. The average person living in the New York area consumes about 50 percent of the energy that someone living in San Francisco uses. New York’s highly efficient green initiatives are some of the main proponents behind this differential between the East and West Coast. New York City uses underwater turbines to generate 10 megawatts of power, which helps power approximately 8,000 homes.

Oakland, Syracuse, NYC, and other cities around America will continue to find ways to reduce costs and spur growth by implementing different types of green initiatives. Many consumers are beginning to follow suite and apply a green approach to their own daily routines.
